After we left Hannagan Meadow wedecided that since we were half way to
Mom and Dad Shupe's, and it was Dad's
Birthday, that we would go and surprise
him for his birthday. St. Johns was right
on the way to Farmington, so we stopped
and picked up Marcia. I called Sylvia to let
her know we were coming and so she prepared
a wonderful birthday dinner and took it to Dad's.
Mom was gone to the Albuquerque Temple, but was
on her way home. It was a huge surprise for Dad
when Marcia, LaMar, Wes, and I showed up. Then
even a bigger surprise when Mom got home! It was
a wonderful visit!!! Dad is 83 years. The next day
we took Marcia back to St. Johns and headed home.

LaMar, Wes, Bryan, Kaylee, and I wentto Showlow for the weekend. Bryan had
to take some things for his business, so
we all went along for the ride. We stayed
in a nice hotel. Kaylee and I listened to
Conference, Saturday and LaMar, Bryan,
and Wes went to Hawley Lake fishing.
They got back in time to go the General
Priesthood meeting at the chapel next to
the hotel. That night Marcia and her kids
came to the hotel and all the kids went
swimming. Then Marcia and I shopped at
Walmart! It was a fun weekend!!!!

This was a busy week. Friday we had the Missionarys
over for dinner. Wes asked if he could start going with
them again. After they left LaMar and I went to Sherry's
Beauty College. She was in a competition with all the
other girls. She picked Wesley's girl friend as her model.
It was fun to watch. After we left LaMar and I were
craving a treat so we went to Walmart and bought some
"Skinny Cow" icecream sandwiches that were 0% fat and
no sugar. We are both STILL trying to eat right and loose
weight! LaMar has lost about 16 lbs and I have only lost
about 5 or 6. But, we are committed to try to eat healthier
from now on. We both feel better!
Saturday we went to a Call Center and worked for 3 hours
making calls to Voters, encouraging Proposition 102 on
Marriage. It was kindof fun! Then we went to Costco
shopping with LaNae, Kaylee, and Lacy.

Today I had to leave school 2 hours
early and drive to the Mayo Clinic in
Scottsdale. Wes had a doctors appointment
with Dr. Craig Cohen, his new cardiologist,
(Dr. Halpe retired). I REALLY like him!
He was pretty upset with Wes for not taking
his Atenenol (BP medication). Wes promised
to start taking it again. He said that everything
seems to be doing good for now, but wants a
stress test done. He also wants Wes to see a
Gastronologist for his stomach problems. The
Mayo Clinic and Hospital was sooo impressive!
I have never seen a cleaner, fancier, beautiful, medical
physicality!
