LaMar got bit by a big dog yesterday while
irrigating!! He said the dog never even barked.
It just ran up to him and bit him and then
ran off?? The owner said it has had all it's
shots though.

Well, LaMar has done very well on Grandpa
Shupe's Diet! He has lost about 7 lbs or so.
I NEVER Cheated and I have lost NONE!!
Aunt Sylvia talked me into doing a different
diet of just eating mostly fruits and vegetable
and a small amount of meats. We are both still
working together and encouraging each other
to keep at it!

Well LaMar and I have decided to go
on a diet together!!! I have never in
29 years been able to get him to eat
right or support me on eating right.
Well, we BOTH obviously need it and
it has been SOOO much fun doing it
TOGETHER! We have been on it for
3 days now and haven't cheated - we
just might make it!
LaMar has been wanting to go to Ashurst Lake up
by Flagstaff to go fishing for Northern Pike - So -
This weekend we went! It was soooo much fun!
After we got out on the lake a huge storm came and
the wind was blowing so hard that it felt like we were
in the ocean! It got really dark fast and there was
lightening all around us. It started sprinkling - BUT -
we kept fishing, and it was sooo exciting and fun! Finally
it was really getting scary and we were on the other end
of the lake. We beached the boat. Then we had to walk
in the rain to the other side of the lake to get the truck.
It was raining - but soooo beautiful and a fun walk!!!
When we got the truck to the boat, LaMar and I had to
carry the boat about 50 yards to the truck (very slowly,
and must have been a sight! Ha! Ha!) Did we catch any
fish - NO! BUT- it was a BLAST!!

Back to school!! I really do enjoy this job and all
the crazy kids! I have a really sweet teacher
I work with - Miss Kirylo - she's awesome!

Last week I did a Party for LaNae's Vinyl Lettering
and Sensey Candles she sells. It was fun.

Not a good picture, but for our "29th Anniversary" LaMar and

I went up to the Sauguro Lake Resturant for dinner. It is a

romantic place to go eat and watch all the boats out on the

lake. After we ate we went out on the pier at Butcher Jones

Beach and fished for a while. It was a beautiful evening!

Lacy can crawl REALLY WELL at only 6 1/2 months!!!
Grandma Donna's Cute little Lacy LaNae!

Grandpa dancing with "Sleeping Beauty!"
"I know you, I danced with you once upon
a dream...." Kelsey loves to dance!
Saturday, Aug 2nd, Debbie and I canned
37 pints of Chicken and 17 quarts of pinto beans!!
I have been wanting to do this for a long time. Jamie
inspired me to get started - it has been awhile since
I have done any canning. With Debbie's knowledge
and help we did it!! It was a fun day together. The
beans are delicious!! We added onion, salt pork, a
little garlic, and salt to each jar - SOOO good!! And
the chicken has such a wonderful flavor, way better
than store bought canned chicken.

After I went to pick up Wes from the
McDonald's Ranch, Wes and I went to
Tucson to spend the week with LaMar.
He will be in Tucson for the next four weeks,
and I will be going back to the Junior High on
August 11, so we went to spend time having fun
with LaMar. This is a picture of LaMar working
in his cubical at the Office in Tempe when we got
back in town.
Fun shopping in Tucson!
Cracker Barrel, LaMar's Favorite
place to eat.

This is LaMar standing in front of the Hotel he
stays in when he is working in Tucson.
Wes in the Hotel's Reading Room.
Where's the book???????

Wes with MY TWO FAVORITE ANGELS!!
Wes helped unload 468 bails of hay!
Wes welding with Jerry!
Wes got the experince of "BRANDING"!
Wes arm wrestling with Jerry!
Awesome pic of Wes in a New Mexico Sunset!
Notice the crooked yucca stick next to the fireplace. Linda gave this to me. She gets them on the ranch, they look like a snake! It's cool!
Wes made these awesome little cups for each of us out of yucca. Linda McDonald makes these for her grandchildren.
After I picked Wes up from the McDonald's
we drove to Silver City to look around at old
memories and to get gas. I took this picture
of Grandpa's old house. The people saw us
taking pictures of a Buck in the ditch behind
Grandpa's house and started talking to us. I
told them that I used to live there and so they
invited us in. It was cool - but it doesn't look at
all as nice as when Mom and Dad lived there!
This is a small buck we saw in the ditch
right next to Grandpa's old house in
Silver City.

This is Jerry and Linda McDonald. I LOVE THEM SOOOO MUCH!!
They are truely my EARTHLY ANGELS!!! Wes spent 2 weeks with them
and know can see why I love them so much! I feel sick that we had to
go get him so early. We really needed him back home to help with the
irrigation and office cleaning. Wes has never been a good city boy, he
would have loved to been born in the country. He really enjoyed his stay with the McDonalds and learned what "REAL COWBOYS" are like and he LOVED IT!!!

Wesley went to the McDonald's Ranch for two weeks and so Bryan and I did irrigation for him. Bryan did the nights and I did the days - I am not used to being in the heat for that long, but it was fun working with LaMar. While waiting for water I was able to get a lot of reading done. I read all of Alma, my Sunday School lessons for the next few weeks, the whole Ensign for Aug, and a wonderful book on Fasting!

This is just the tail end of a huge herd of elk - I was so excited - I couldn't find my camera.!
We caught 15 fish in just a few hours!!

This is my kitchen! LaMar and I were the cooks for the Deacons Super Activity at Big Lake.
We were at camp from Monday thru Friday. It was a lot of work but so much fun!!

We saw a few deer, LOTS of Elk, turkey, beavers, antelop, and fresh bear poop!
